David Delk's Biography
When did you begin your life with Christ?
I began my Christian walk on February 10, 1985 at the age of 23.
When did you receive your call into ministry?
I knew almost immediately that God had placed a call on my life to work with youth. I realized that no one had ever shared with me how to have a relationship with Christ during my years in Middle School and High School. I didn’t want kids to go through what I went through without hearing about Christ at the most impressionable years of their lives. During the early years of my involvement with FCA I felt like God was calling me into Fulltime Service with him. As I sat wrestling with submitting to this call, I heard the story of the Paduka, KY shootings come over the radio. Several students lost their lives during a ‘prayer meeting’ at their school. It was at the moment that I felt God saying, “This is why I want you in the schools with FCA”. I immediately resigned my position of 10 years and began full time with FCA. Since my involvement starting 14 years ago as a volunteer with FCA, God has showed Himself faithful in growing this ministry. We have seen many decisions made and many lives changed. God has blessed us tremendously but there is still much work to be done. Many schools still do not have FCA and the students are going through Middle and High School never hearing about our Savior, Jesus Christ, who loves them very much. FCA is a tremendous organization that uses the influence of sports through coaches and athletes to introduce young people to Jesus Christ.
